The Hill City Arts Council conducts a variety of meetings throughout each year, depending on the committee or coalition involved in the particular agenda. The general board attends monthly meetings, usually on the first Tuesday of each month, at 5:30 at the Arts Center, which is located downstairs at the Visitor Information Center on Hwy 385. These particular meetings tend to be the least entertaining of our regular fare, because it's where routine work is undertaken, event planning details are arranged, and annual strategic plans are executed. But these ARE public meetings. Members of the public are welcome, and an opportunity for input and feedback is a regular feature of every agenda.
On the other hand, annual Member Meetings are much more exciting. They involve presenting our Annual Report, awarding annual goodies to our outstanding Volunteer and Business Partner of the Year, and unveiling the year's plans. The Member Meeting occurs once a year, and occurs in the Spring; members are informed via email and/or traditional mailing.
Our Advisory Board is also invited to an annual meeting especially for them, during which time we discuss fundraising and outreach that extends to a regional level. Our Community Liaisons will attend one or two meetings per year, depending on HCAC programming / community needs. The upcoming Advisory Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Prairie Berry winery.
Finally, our Special Volunteers are invited to all programming, as well as the Member Meeting each year. These folks also are invited to specific meetings and initiatives related to their areas of expertise. For example, if a Special Volunteer always works on the Sculpture of the Hills art show and sale, then he or she will be invited to appropriate committee meetings to undertake relevant tasks.
